Between July and September, anthrax was found in North Dakota (cattle, horses, and bison), Minnesota (cattle), Nevada (cattle), and Nebraska (cattle). While no human infections were reported, a family in Minnesota ate a cow that was later found to have died of anthrax. Two family members complained of gastrointestinal symptoms. All recovered after taking ciprofloaxcin and being vaccinated |
