5.  HUMAN COMPUTER INTERFACE

5.1   INTRODUCTION

Human Computer Interface (HCI) defines the "look and feel" of information systems. A common "look and feel" or common workstation allows experienced operators the ability to operate different platforms with little or no additional training.

This chapter does not attempt to define a common operator workstation. Instead it provides guidelines to establish a commonality in the "look and feel" of the operator interfaces for JASA systems.

5.2   MANDATES

     The following shall be used:

  • TAFIM, Volume 8 - HCI Style Guide
  • The User Interface Specifications for the Defense Information Infrastructure (DII)
  • The JASA supplement to the User Interface Specifications for the DII (See Annex 1)
