The LO HAE UAV ACTD is designed to provide critical imagery intelligence from highly defended areas. The LO HAE UAV trades air vehicle performance and payload capacity for survivability features against air defenses. Its use of low observable technology will minimize the air vehicle's radar return and thus enhance survivability. The prime contractor is the Lockheed Martin/Boeing team. The HAE Common Ground Segment (CGS) will provide a launch and recovery element, mission control element, and ground communications element that will be common or interoperable with the CONV HAE UAV.
