Naval Security Group Activity

Established in 1957, the Naval Security Group Activity (NSGA) is a shore (field) command at Ft. Meade under the operational control of the Commander, Naval Security Group Command, Washington, DC, and under area coordination control of the Commandant, Naval District Washington, DC. Company A, Marine Support Battalion serves with the Naval Security Group Activity. Naval Security Group Activity Fort Meade is the largest Naval Security Group Activity with over 1500 officers, enlisted Navy, Marine Corps, and civilian personnel. Navy and Marine Corps personnel serving with the National Security Agency receive administrative and logistic support from NSGA and Company A. Administrative offices are located in Buildings 9804 and 9805. Enlisted berthing messing facilities and the administrative offices are within a short walking distance from NSGA.
