RMKS/1. THE UNDERGRADUATE INTELLIGENCE PROGRAM (UGIP) IS AN EDUCATION
PROGRAM AT THE JOINT MILITARY INTELLIGENCE COLLEGE (JMIC),
WASHINGTON, DC. THE PROGRAM IS ORIENTED TOWARD SENIOR ENLISTED
INTELLIGENCE PERSONNEL IN MOS 02XX AND 26XX. THE UGIP CURRICULUM
CONSISTS OF 38 WEEKS OF UNDERGRADUATE-LEVEL ACADEMIC INSTRUCTION.
THE ACADEMIC YEAR 1995-96 PROGRAM WILL CONVENE 11SEP95.
2. APPLICANTS WILL BE SELECTED BY A BOARD SPONSORED BY HQMC C4I ON
OR ABOUT 20MAR95.
3. PREREQUISITES FOR APPLICATION TO THE UGIP PROGRAM ARE:
A. GRADE: GYSGT THROUGH MSGT
B. MOS: 02XX OR 26XX
C. MINIMUM OF EIGHT YEARS OF INTELLIGENCE AND/OR CRYPTOLOGIC
EXPERIENCE.
D. COMPLETION OF CMC DIRECTED PROFESSIONAL MILITARY EDUCATION
(PME).
E. EDUCATION:
(1) HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATE AS CERTIFIED BY A SECONDARY SCHOOL
DIPLOMA OR GED.
(2) COMPLETION OF AT LEAST 15 SEMESTER HOURS OF
UNDERGRADUATE COURSE WORK, WITH A CUMULATIVE GPA OF 2.0 OR HIGHER ON
A 4.O SCALE (CREDITS MUST HAVE BEEN EARNED IN-RESIDENCE AT A
REGIONALLY ACCREDITED COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY). CORRESPONDENCE AND
EXTENSION CREDITS WILL NOT SATISFY THE 15-HOUR REQUIREMENT. A
CERTIFIED COPY OF TRANSCRIPTS DESCRIBING COMPLETED UNDERGRADUATE WORK
MUST ACCOMPANY THE ADMINISTRATIVE ACTION (AA) FORM, AS DETAILED IN
PARA 5.
F. SERVICE REQUIREMENTS:
(1) APPLICANTS REQUIRE A MINIMUM OF 2 YRS TIME ON STATION
AND, IF ASSIGNED TO AN UNACCOMPANIED TOUR, MUST BE WITHIN 60 DAYS OF
RTD UPON CLASS CONVENING DATE OF 11SEP95.
(2) COMMANDING OFFICERS MUST CERTIFY MARINE'S ELIGIBILITY
FOR REENLISTMENT IN ACCORDANCE WITH MCO P1040.31G.
G. MUST BE ELIGIBLE FOR SCI ACCESS PRIOR TO ARRIVAL AT THE JMIC
(NOT WAIVERABLE).
H. WAIVERS: REQUESTS FOR WAIVER MUST BE ADDRESSED IN THE
COMMANDING OFFICERS ENDORSEMENT. EACH WAIVER REQUEST MUST INCLUDE
SPECIFIC RATIONALE AS TO WHY IT SHOULD BE GRANTED.
4. UGIP STUDENTS RECEIVE A JOINT MILITARY INTELLIGENCE COLLEGE
COMPLETION CERTIFICATE UPON GRADUATION FROM THE UGIP PROGRAM. IT
SHOULD BE STRESSED THAT UGIP IS NOT A DEGREE COMPLETION PROGRAM, BUT
RATHER A PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM FOR CAREER INTELLIGENCE
PERSONNEL. THEREFORE, AS LONG AS THE APPLICANT POSSESSES THE MINIMUM
15 SEMESTER HOURS, THE AMOUNT OF COLLEGE CREDIT AN INDIVIDUAL MARINE
HAS PREVIOUSLY ACQUIRED WILL NOT BE A DETERMINING FACTOR IN SELECTION
TO ATTEND UGIP.
5. APPLICATIONS MUST BE SUBMITTED ON AN ADMINISTRATIVE ACTION FORM TO
CMC (CODE C4I/CRP), VIA CHAIN OF COMMAND, BY 15MAR95. AA FORM AND
ENCLOSURES WILL DOCUMENT SATISFACTION OF PREREQUISITES.
6. SELECTEES WILL BE NOTIFIED BY MSG. ONCE NOTIFIED, SELECTEES ARE
REQUIRED TO HAVE OFFICIAL COLLEGE TRANSCRIPTS FORWARDED TO THE JMIC
BY THE ISSUING INSTITUTION (COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY) BY 1MAY95.
ADDITIONAL ADMINISTRATIVE INFORMATION WILL BE PROVIDED IN THE
SELECTION MSG.
7. THIS BULLETIN IS NOT APPLICABLE TO THE MARINE CORPS RESERVE.
