INTRO:  OFFICIALS WHO RUN INDIA'S NUCLEAR PROGRAM SAY REPORTS 
COMPUTER HACKERS PENETRATED THEIR COMPUTERS ARE GREATLY 
EXAGGERATED.  CORRESPONDENT JIM TEEPLE REPORTS FROM NEW DELHI, 
THREE TEENAGERS FROM HOLLAND, BRITAIN, AND NEW ZEALAND SAY THEY 
PENTRATED THE COMPUTERS AS A PROTEST AGAINST INDIA'S NUCLEAR 
TESTS.

TEXT:  THE THREE HACKERS SAY THEY ALTERED THE HOME PAGE AT THE 
BHABBA ATOMIC RESEARCH CENTER IN MUMBAI TO DISPLAY AN 
ANTI-NUCLEAR MESSAGE.  THEY ALSO SAY THEY DOWNLOADED SENSITIVE 
E-MAIL MESSAGES BETWEEN INDIAN SCIENTISTS ABOUT NUCLEAR TESTS.   

THE HEAD OF THE COMPUTER DIVISION AT THE BHABBA ATOMIC RESEARCH 
CENTER, H. KAURA, SAYS SOMEONE DOWNLOADED E-MAIL FROM THE 
COMPUTER ON WHICH THE HOMEPAGE IS DISPLAYED, BUT THAT COMPUTER IS
SEPARATE FROM ALL OTHERS AT THE CENTER.

         THE COMPUTERS USED FOR THE E-MAIL AND THE HOMEPAGE ARE 
         PHYSICALLY ISOLATED FROM ALL OTHER COMPUTERS.

MR. KAURA SAYS THE AFFECTED E-MAIL MESSAGES WERE IN THE PUBLIC 
DOMAIN AND NO SENSITIVE INFORMATION WAS TAKEN. 

MEANWHILE, THE THREE HACKERS, WHO CLAIM TO BE PART OF AN 
ORGANIZED GROUP CALLED "MILWORM", SAY THEIR NEXT TARGET WILL BE 
THE COMPUTERS WHICH HELP TO RUN PAKISTAN'S NUCLEAR PROGRAM.
