Hangar 17 & A-12 Hangars

At the South end of the facility there are eight 8,700 square foot hangars measuring 77 feet by 116 feet. These hangars were built to support the A-12 program. There is a large composite 29,000 square foot hangar 140 x 217.

Located at the south end of the the base, Hangar 17 provides up to 28,900 square feet of floor space, with a 135 foot-wide opening, and and depth of up to 217 feet making this the longest hangar at Groom Lake. Hangar 17 also contains a security vault.
