The largest hangar on the base, Hangar 18 takes up approximately 51,366 square feet capable of accomodating aircraft with a wingspan of 235 feet, and a length of 190 feet. The height of Hangar 18 is estimated to be eight stories. Reports claim this high bay building is used to mate a secret hypersonic aircraft to its launch vehicle.

For ease of interpretability, unlike the other images of Area 51, this enlargement of the image of Hangar 18 has been shifted so that North is to the bottom [as is standard practice in the national imagery exploitation community, where one of the first things a novice "squint" learns is that "shadows fall to the bottom"].
