A. DESCRIPTION: THE MODULAR MISSION PAYLOAD (MMP) CONSISTS OF THE DAY/NIGHT SENSOR WITH CONTAINER. THE DAY/NIGNT SENSOR IS INSTALLED IN THE AV AND PROVIDES IMAGERY DURING RECONNAISANCE MISSIONS. THE MMP DIMENSIONS ARE L=30", W=30", H=40" AND WEIGHS 200 LBS. B. CAPABILITIES: THE MMP IS A GIMBLE MOUNTED CAMERA SYSTEM CONSITING OF A DAY ONLY AND A FORWARD LOOKING INFRARED (FLIR) CAMERA. THE DAY ONLY CAMERA HAS A FOCAL LENGTH OF 10 TO 150MM AND THE FORWARD LOOKING INFRARED CAMERA HAS THREE SET FOCAL LENGTHS OF 22MM FOR WIDE FIELD OF VIEW (FOV), 80MM AT MIDDLE FOV AND 225MM AT NARROW FOV. THE MMP PROVIDES THE COMMANDER WITH THE ABILITY TO RECEIVE NEAR REAL TIME IMAGERY INTELLIGENCE. C. EMPLOYMENT: THE MMP IS LOCATED AT THE LAUNCH AND RECOVERY SITE. D. BASIS OF ISSUE: 16 PER LAUNCH AND RECOVERY SECTION, AIR RECON CO, MI BN (AE), MI BDE, CORPS. EIGHT PER LAUNCH AND RECOVERY SECTION, AIR RECON PLT, MI BN, HEAVY, AIRBORNE AND AIR ASSAULT DIVISIONS. EIGHT PER LAUNCH AND RECOVERY SECTION, AIR RECON PLT, MI CO, ACR (HEAVY). E. POWER REQUIREMENTS: POWER SUPPLIED BY INTERAL POWER SOURCE PROVIDED BY THE MISSION AIRCRAFT. F. TRANSPORTATION REQUIREMENTS: TRANSPORTED BY THE UAV DURING MISSION. MMP REMOVED FOR SHIPMENT AND IS TRANSPORTED BY ORGANIC VEHICLES IN THE AIR RECON CO/PLT.
