A. DESCRIPTION: THE COUNTERMEASURE SYSTEM SPECIAL PURPOSE, AN/ALQ-151A(), LIN Z13223, BETTER KNOWN AS ADVANCED QUICK FIX (AQF), IS AN AVIATION INTELLIGENCE AND ELECTRONIC WARFARE (IEW) SYSTEM INSTALLED IN AN EH-60 ELECTRONIC COUNTERMEASURES HELICOPTER. THE AQF INTERCEPTS AND LOCATES COMMUNICATIONS SIGNALS AND EMITTERS (RESPECTIVELY), AND JAMS TARGETED COMMUNICATIONS RECEIVERS. COMPONENTS OF AQF: Z33965 INSTALLATION KIT: MK-2520/VSQ-1 (GENERAL PURPOSE USER 1:1 Z98482 EPLRS AIRBORNE RADIO SET: AN/ASQ-XX(V)3 (1553) 1:1 B. CAPABILITIES: AQF SYSTEM RECEIVES, TRANSMITS, PROCESSES, AND STORES VARIOUS SIGNAL COMMUNICATIONS WITHIN HIGH FREQUENCY (HF), MEDIUM FREQUENCY (MF), VERY HIGH FREQUENCY (VHF), ULTRA-HIGH FREQUENCY (UHF) AND SUPER HIGH FREQUENCY BANDS. ADDITIONAL CAP INCLUDES: COLLECTION OF ELINT DATA, DIRECTION FINDING (DF), AND COMMUNICATIONS SIGNAL JAMMING. AQF INTERFACES WITH AND EXTENDS THE CAPABILITIES OF THE GROUND BASED COMMON SENSOR SYSTEM. AQF DEPENDS UPON GBCS FOR ELECTRONICS COUNTERMEASURES (ECM) AND ELECTRONIC WARFARE (EW) SUPPORT AS WELL AS SECURE VOICE/DATA COMMUNICATIONS BETWEEN AIRBORNE SENSORS (AQF) AND GROUND (GBCS) STATIONS. C. EMPLOYMENT: AQF IS ORGANIC TO CEWI AVIATION UNITS OF HEAVY, LIGHT, AIRBORNE, AND AIR ASSAULT DIVISIONS, WHERE IT IS EMPLOYED UNDER THE OPERATIONAL CONTROL OF THE MI BATTALION. AQF IS ALSO ORGANIC TO AVIATION UNITS OF THE ARMORED CAVALRY REGIMENT, WHERE IT IS EMPLOYED UNDER THE OPERATIONAL CONTROL OF THE MI COMPNAY. D. BASIS OF ISSUE: 4 PER MI FLIGHT PLATOON. E. POWER REQUIREMENTS: HELICOPTER ONBOARD POWER GENERATING SYSTEM, 120/208 VAC, 3 PHASE AT A FREQUENCY OF 400HZ AND 300 AMP, 28 VDC. F. TRANSPORTATION REQUIREMENTS: AQF IS MOUNTED ONBOARD AN EH-60 HELICOPTER AIRFRAME. G. PERSONNEL/MAINTENANCE IMPACTS. (1) OPERATOR: 98G (2 PER AQF SYSTEM) (2) MAINTAINERS: UL: 31U, 33T, 68N DS: 33T, 35E H. SPECIAL NOTES: (1) THIS ITEM IS APPROPRIATE FOR INCLUSION IN AR 71-13. (2) AQF (LIN Z13223) SUCCEEDS AN EARLIER VERSION (LIN S48696 M070AA). (3) ASSOCIATED MOS 29E HAS BEEN SUPERCEDED BY MOS 35E (NOFC E-9410-17). (4) ASSOCIATED MOS 33T IS REQUIRED BECAUSE THE COMPONENTS OF AQF ARE GROUND (NOT AVIONIC) ITEMS. (5) SINCE AQF IS MOUNTED IN A HELICOPTER, IT WILL NOT BE ABLE TO OPERATE WITHOUT THE AIRFRAME (EH-60), PILOT (MOS 153OB5 OR 15MB5), AND AVIONICS REPAIRMEN (MOS 68N1O).
