Advanced Course Follow-On Assignments: Officers whose last tour was CONUS can expect to be assigned OCONUS out of OAC. With 3 Brigades in Korea, a large percentage of OAC graduates will be assigned to Korea.

Branch Qual then “Other” assignments vs Gate Time: Once an officer is branch qualified (18 months +/- 6), they are considered for a non-troop assignment. This could be AC/RC, TRADOC, or Functional Area. Aviation Branch considers but does not guarantee gate time to ensure officer’s have the best opportunity to meet their first gate. “New” gate is 8-of-12 vs 9-of-12. Currently population of 568 to fill 390 commands for branch qualification.
