A. DESCRIPTION: THE AN/TSQ-2000, MOBILE INTEGRATED TACTICAL TERMINAL (MITT), LIN Z43728, BOIP M089AA, RECEIVES, PROCESSES, AND DISSEMINATES IMAGERY INTELLIGENCE (IMINT) AND SIGNAL INTELLIGENCE (SIGINT) INFORMATION. IT IS INSTALLED IN TWO S788 SHELTERS (102" LONG X 84" WIDE X 67" HIGH), MOUNTED ON TWO M1097 HIGH MOBILITY MULTIPURPOSE WHEELED VEHICLES (HMMWV), HEAVY VARIANT (LIN T07679) (TOTAL WIEGHT 4,200 POUNDS). POWER IS PROVIDED BY A SPECIALLY FABRICATED 15KW GENERATOR MOUNTED ON A MODIFIED M116A2 TRAILER. THE MITT IS COMPRISED OF 3 WORKSTATIONS: 1 COMMUNICATIONS WORKSTATION AND 2 INTELLIGENCE ANALYST WORKSTATIONS, CONFIGURABLE AS EITHER TENCAP ELECTRONIC INTELLIGENCE (ELINT) OR IMAGERY ANALYST WORKSTATIONS (THE WORKSTATIONS INCLUDE THE SYNTHETHIC ULTRAHIGH FREQUENCY COMPUTER CONTROLLED EQUIPMENT SUB-SYSTEM (SUCCESS) AND THE TENCAP COMMUNICATIONS SUPPORT PROCESSOR (CSP) AS COMPONENT ITEMS). ANY OF THE 3 WORKSTATIONS CAN BE REMOTED OUTSIDE THE SHELTERS. TO CONFORM WITH THE WEIGHT LIMIT OF 4,200 PER HEAVY HMMWV, A WORKSTATION WILL BE DISMOUNTED. B. CAPABILITIES: THE MITT PROVIDES THE CAPABILITY TO RECEIVE MULTIPLE-SOURCE IMINT/SIGINT DATA AND MESSAGES FROM EXTERNAL SOURCES, ANALYZE AND INTEGRATE DATA INTO CORRELATED DATABASES, AND RAPIDLY DISSEMINATE INTELLIGENCE DATA, SECONDARY IMAGERY AND OTHER PRODUCTS TO TACTICAL USERS. THE MITT PROVIDES THE TACTICAL COMMANDER TARGETING INFORMATION, THE CURRENT ENEMY SITUATION, AND TERRAIN ANALYSIS DATA. C. EMPLOYMENT: THE MITT IS A RESPONSIVE TACTICAL SYSTEM ORGANIC TO THE MI COMPANY IN THE ARMORED CAVALRY REGIMENT, SEPARATE BRIGADE,AND ENHANCED BRIGADES; MI BATTALIONS IN THE HEAVY, LIGHT, AIRBORNE, AND AIR ASSAULT DIVISION; AND OPERATIONS BATTALIONS AT CORPS AND ECHELONS ABOVE CORPS MI BRIGADE. D. BASIS OF ISSUE: 1 MITT PER MI COMPANY, ARMORED CAVALRY REGIMENT, SEPERATE BRIGADE, AND ENHANCED BRIGADE; 1 MITT PER MI BATTALION, HEAVY, LIGHT, AIRBORNE, AND AIR ASSAULT DIVISIONS; 1 MITT PER OPERATIONS BATTALION AT THE CORPS AND ECHELONS ABOVE CORPS MI BRIGADE. E. POWER REQUIREMENTS: THE MITT REQUIRES A POWER SOURCE THAT PROVIDES 120/280V, 60 HZ. THE MITT HAS A BUILT-IN, SPECIALLY FABRICATED, 15 KW COMPONENT-ITEM GENERATOR MOUNTED ON A MODIFIED M116A2 TRAILER. F. TRANSPORTATION REQUIREMENTS: THE MITT IS 100% MOBILE AND MEETS TYPE III MOBILITY STANDARDS FOR HIGHWAY AND OFF-ROAD MOVEMENT. IT HAS ROLL-ON/ROLL-OFF C-130 CAPABILITY. IT IS AIR-LIFTABLE BY CH-47, BUT IS NOT AIR-DROPPABLE. MITT IS 100% MOBILE. G. PERSONNEL/MAINTENANCE IMPACTS: (1) OPERATOR MOS: STAFFING: 1 EACH 352J MCN; 1 EACH MOS 98J AND 1 EACH MOS 96D PER 12-HOUR SHIFT; 1 ADDITIONAL 98J PER 24-HOUR SHIFT. (DETAILS AVAILABLE IN SECTION "ASSOCIATED/RELATED PERSONNEL".) (2) MAINTAINER MOS: UNIT LEVEL (UL) 33T DIRECT SUPPORT (DS) NONE GENERAL SUPPORT (GS) NONE NOTE 1: THE MITT REQUIRES 1426 MANHOURS OF UNIT LEVEL MAINTENANCE PERFORMED BY MOS 33T TO PROVIDE DEDICATED TROUBLE-SHOOTING/ PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE. NO REQUIREMENT FOR DIRECT SUPPORT OR GENERAL SUPPORT MAINTENANCE. NOTE 2: PERSONNEL ASSIGNED AS MITT OPERATORS WILL RECEIVE OPERATOR TRAINING AT FT HUACHUCA IN THE FUNCTIONAL TENCAP OPERATOR COURSE. ONCE THE OPERATOR COMPLETES THE TENCAP COURSE, A TENCAP 2T ADDITIONAL SKILL IDENTIFIER WILL BE ASSIGNED. (MITT SYSTEM TRAINING PLAN DATED JUN 93 AUTHORIZES NOTES 2 AND 3.) NOTE 3: THE 33T MAINTAINER WILL RECEIVE TRAINING WITHIN A FUNCTIONAL COURSE AT FT HUACHUCA USING THE TENCAP MAINTENANCE TRAINER. THE TRAINER WILL BE A COMPLETE SUITE OF MITT ELECTRONICS CONFIGURED IN A MOCK-UP MITT ENCLOSED SHELTER. (3) EACH POSITION HAS THE REQUIREMENT FOR SCI ELIGIBILITY. THE FDU DATED JAN 93 AUTHORIZED THE PERSONNEL REQUIRED TO OPERATE AND MAINTAIN THE MITT. EXISTING MANPOWER FORCE STRUCTURE (RESULTING FROM THE REMOVAL OF TEAMPACK, AN/MSQ-103 FROM THE FORCE) WAS PROJECTED TO BE USED TO SUPPORT MITT PER HQDA MESSAGE, DAMO-FDI, 201435Z91, SUBJECT: RETIREMENT OF AN/MSQ-1038/C (TEAMPACK). PER THE FDU, THE MITT WILL BE OPERATIONAL 24 HOURS PER DAY (TWO 12-HOUR SHIFTS) WITH A TOTAL OF 5 PERSONNEL (THE 96D AND 98J ARE DEDICATED TO THE OPERATION OF THE MITT). BECAUSE THE MITT WORKSTATIONS CAN BE CONFIGURED EITHER AS IMAGERY OR ELINT POSITIONS, THE CONCEPT IS THAT ONE POSITION OF EACH TYPE (96D AND 98J) WOULD BE ON DUTY DURING EACH SHIFT. (4) MITT'S MAINTENANCE CONCEPT IS THAT ORGANIZATIONAL (UNIT LEVEL) MAINTENANCE TASKS (TO INCLUDE IDENTIFYING FAULTY LINE REPLACEABLE UNITS (LRU)) BE PERFORMED BY MAINTAINERS USING BUILT-IN-TEST/BUILT-IN-TEST-EQUIPMENT ORGANIC TO THE UNIT. CONTRACTOR MAINTENANCE AT DS/GS LEVEL REBUILDS, REPAIRS, OR DISCARDS FAULTY LRUS; DEFECTIVE LRU WILL BE EVACUATED TO THE CORPS SUPPORT COMMAND/DIVISION SUPPORT COMMAND. THE S788 SHELTER, THE SPECIALLY FABRICATED GENERATOR, AND THE M116A2 TRAILER WILL ALSO BE CONTRACTOR MAINTAINED FOR THE LIFE OF THE SYSTEM. H. SPECIAL NOTES: (1) THE US ARMY INTELLIGENCE CENTER OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS DOCUMENT (ORD) FOR THE MITT IS DATED 20 JUN 92. (2) THE MITT IS THE DOWNSIZED VERSION OF THE TACTICAL HIGH MOBILITY TERMINAL (THMT) (Z77299). THE MITT REPLACES THE THMT IN THE FORCE STRUCTURE. A BOIP WAS NOT DEVELOPED FOR THE THMT. (3) AT THIS TIME, FIELDING OF THE MITT TO THE ARMORED CAVALRY REGIMENT, SEPARATE BRIGADES, OR ENHANCED BRIGADES IS NOT SCHEDULED. UPON APPROVAL OF THE MITT BOIP, ILO SYSTEM FORWARD AREA SUPPORT TERMINAL ((FAST), LIN Z42636), SCHEDULED FOR FIELDING TO THOSE UNITS, WILL BE PUBLISHED IN SB 700-20. (4) BASIS OF ISSUE NARRATIVE GUIDANCE IS APPROPRIATE FOR PUBLICATION IN AR 71-13.
