LETTER OF PROMULGATION
FOREWORD
This course is designed to train IS designated personnel to perform all functions related to the development of imagery products used to support the Tomahawk route planning requirements of the Afloat Planning System (APS). Training includes detailed operations related to imagery manipulation and display. The course will require and involve extensive hands-on exercise at the equipment console. Upon installation of training equipment, the course will be taught formally at the Navy and Marine Corps Intelligence Training Center, (NMITC) Dam Neck, Virginia Beach, VA.

Course Mission Statement:
The DIWSA Operator Course is designed to train qualified IS designated personnel to perform all functions related to development of imagery products used to support the Tomahawk route planning requirements of the Afloat Planning System (APS). The course training includes one week of APS orientation and ten weeks instruction on DIWSA console operations, with detailed operations related to imagery manipulation and display. The course involves extensive hands-on exercises at the equipment console.
Occupational Classification:
It is proposed that NEC 3925 be awarded to the DIWSA operator course graduate.
Prerequisites:
IS "A" Phase I (core) (CIN J-242-0010)
IS "C" School (CIN A-XXX-XXX)

Course Overview:
The course content will include the following, in accordance with approved technical manuals and applicable system operator's and user manuals:
Understand interface and operational relationships between the DIWSA, Tactical Data Distribution System (MDS), Tomahawk Land Attack (TLAM) Planning System Afloat (TPSA), and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Isolation Segment (SIS) equipment.
Understand digital imagery tasking processes of the Afloat Planning System (APS).
Perform basic imagery construction from applicable imagery source data.
Apply basic digital imagery tasking processes to produce imagery products.
Perform as imagery analyst and operator for imagery processes.
Perform as imagery supervisor as required.
Qualify to operate the DIWSA imagery production equipment.
