A. DESCRIPTION: THE FLIGHT LINE TEST SET: AN/ARM-163(V)4 IS CONTAINED IN A 14 FOOT COMMERCIAL PANEL TRUCK (VAN). IT CONTAINS ALL TEST EQUIPMENT REQUIRED TO TEST AND PREFLIGHT THE AIRCRAFT MISSION EQUIPMENT PRIOR TO TAKEOFF. B. CAPABILITIES: THE FLIGHT LINE TEST SET, AN/ARM-163(V)4 IS USED TO CHECK THE DIRECTION FINDING AND INTERCEPT CAPABILITIES OF THE AIRBORNE RELAY FACILITY (ARF), AN/ARW-83(V)5 DURING PREFLIGHT SCENARIOS. C. EMPLOYMENT: THIS SYSTEM IS TO BE EMPLOYED ONLY AT MILITARY INTELLIGENCE BRIGADE, AERIAL EXPLOITATION BATTALION, CORPS. (34418C200) D. BASIS OF ISSUE: ONE PER AVIATION CO (ELECTRONIC WARFARE), MILITARY INTELLIGENCE BATTALION, AERIAL EXPLOITATION, CORPS. E. POWER REQUIREMENTS: THE FLIGHT LINE TEST SET OPERATES ON 6.5KW, 60 HZ SELF CONTAINED GENERATOR. F. TRANSPORTATION REQUIREMENTS: THIS SYSTEM IS CONTAINED IN A CHEVROLET MULTI STEP VAN. SPECIAL NOTES: 1. AS OF JUNE 1993, THE HISTORY OF THE GUARDRAIL FAMILY IS AS FOLLOWS: THE BASE ITEM IN ALL AERIAL EXPLOITATION BATTALIONS IS GUARDRAIL V (GRV). GRV WAS FIELDED TO USAREUR AND 15TH MI BN, FT HOOD. IT WAS REPLACED BY IGRV, AN/USD-9A, AT BOTH LOCATIONS. THE IGRV IN USAREUR WAS THEN REPLACED BY THE GUARDRAIL COMMON SENSOR SYSTEM 4 (GRCS-4), WHILE THE IGRV IN FT HOOD IS SCHEDULED TO BE REPLACED BY THE GUARDRAIL COMMON SENSOR SYSTEM 2 (GRCS-2) IN 1997. 2. IGRV CONSIST OF THE FOLLOWING LINS: Z04118 (M021AA), Z15849 (M021AB), Z15917 (M021AC), Z28126 (M021MA), Z40903 (M021MB), Z41406 (M021MC), Z50693 (M021AD), Z76231 (M021AE), Z77097 (M021AF), Z77165 (M021AG), Z35208 (M021AH). 3. THE 33R AERIAL SENSOR REPAIRER REQUIREMENTS AS DEPICTED IN TOE 34418C200 AND THIS BOIP ARE DIRECTLY COMMUENSURATE WITH PERSONNEL AUTHORIZATIONS CURRENTLY DOCUMENTED IN IGRV UNITS. 4. ALL PERSONNEL CHANGES GENERATED BY THE IGRV BOIP'S WERE AFFECTED BY USING M021AA. 5. BOING IS NOT APPROPRIATE FOR PUBLICATION IN AR 71-13.
