Surveillance Information Processing Facility A. DESCRIPTION: The Computer/Communication Van (V-XX2/TSQ- 105 (V) 5) is the second of four specially constructed electronic shelters which make up the Surveillance Information Processing Facility of the GUARDRAIL/COMMON SENSOR (GR/CS) System 4 Integrated Processing Facility (IPF). The Computer/Communication Van is used with three other systems to observe, analyze, and process transmissions from the AN/ARW-83 (V) 6 Airborne Relay Facility (ARF). The total system provides signal intelligence (Near real-time information) to tactical commanders to include locations of deployed hostile forces. In the Computer/ Communication Van, is the computer group and three Electronic Intelligence Group (ELINT) operators positions, who are used to monitor, analyze and process ELINT information. Friendly/user messages/reports are sent and received here. The communication links are capable of sending and receiving secure messages. These communication links also serve as a back-up capability for transmitting reports when there are no aircraft airborne or the link between the aircraft and users's tactical communication terminal is disrupted. The computer information from the four vans is processed by the V-XX2/TSQ-105 (V) 5 computer systems. Van dimensions are: Length 524.75 inches, Width 102.5 inches, & Height 96 inches; Weight w/o chassis 24320 pounds. Chassis dimensions are: Length 488.75, Width 96, & Height 54.75; Weight is 7960 pounds. The Computer Van requires one dedicated commercial tractor truck for intra-theater deployment. The Computer Van requires 71.75 KW at 60HZ furnished by the AN/MJQ-34 (LIN Z75545 BOIP M050AI). B. CAPABILITIES: The computer van has work stations for the computer group and three ELINT operators. It is world-wide deployable except by rail. Maintainers are MOS 33R. Electrical power for the system is provided by the AN/ MJQ-26. It is capable of 24 hour operations in a NBC protected environment. Corps support is required for intra-theater deployment of the GS/CS System. Skid mounted air conditioners degrade mobility. User communication requirements are UHF, FM and VOW. C. EMPLOYMENT: This system is employed only to the Military Intelligence Brigade, Aerial Exploitation Battalion, Corps (34418C400). D. BASIS OF ISSUE: One Per AEB, CORPS (MI). E. POWER REQUIREMENTS: This facility operates on 71.75 KW at 60 HZ furnished by the AN/MJQ-34, Z75545, BOIP M050AI (OLD BOIP# 890159). F. TRANSPORTATION REQUIREMENTS: This facility requires one Commercial Tractor Truck and one S74353 Semi Trailer Van. G. PERSONNEL/MAINTENANCE IMPACTS: (For Principal Item Only) (1) OPERATOR: Three 98J. (2) MAINTAINERS: A. UL MAINTENANCE: 33R, 63S. B. DS MAINTENANCE: 29J, 33R, 63W. C. GS MAINTENANCE: 29J, 63W. H. SPECIAL NOTES: BOIPS (() old BOIP numbers): M050AA (860010), M050AB (860011), M050AC (860012), M050AD (860013), M050AD (860014), M050MA (860015), M050MB (860016), M050MC (860017), M050AI (890159), M050AJ (890160), and M087AH all make up GUARDRAIL/Common Sensor. (1) BOIP's M050AA (860010), M050AB (860011), M050AC (860012), and M050AD (860013) are the 4 primary items of the Surveillance Information Processing Facility (AN/TSQ-105). (2) The V-XX2/TSQ-105 (V)5 is appropriate for publication in AR 71-13.
