Surveillance Information Processing Facility

A.  DESCRIPTION:  The Processing/Electronic Intelligence Van
(V-XX4/TSQ-105(V) 5) is the fourth of four specially constructed
electronic shelters which make up the Surveillance Information
Processing Facility of the GUARDRAIL/COMMON SENSOR (GR/CS) System
4 Integrated Processing Facility (IPF).  The PROC/ELINT Van is
used with three other systems to observe, analyze, and process
transmissions from the AN/ARW-83 Airborne Relay Facility (V) 6
(ARF).  The total system provides signal intelligence (Near real-
time information) to tactical commanders to include locations of
deployed hostile forces.  The PROC/ELINT Van has eight operator
work stations and two supervisory work stations.  The work
stations monitor incoming sensor data.  Raw data is received by
the operators who produce and name a file, and prepare a gist of
each incoming signal.   Each operator records the incoming signal
on an analog tape.  Van dimensions are: Length 527.25 inches,
Width 101.5 inches, Height 96 inches; Weight w/o chassis 24320
pounds.  Chassis dimensions are: Length 488.75, Width 96, &
Height 54.75; Weight is 7960 pounds.  The PROC/ELINT van requires
one dedicated commercial truck for intra-theater deployment.
The PROC/ELINT facility requires 30.75 KW at 60HZ furnished
by the AN/MJQ-34 (LIN Z75545 BOIP M050AI).

     B.  CAPABILITIES:  The PROC/ELINT van has eight operator
work stations and two supervisory work stations.  It is world-
wide deployable except by rail.  Maintainers are MOS 33R.
Electrical power for the system is provided by the AN/ MJQ-26.
It is capable of 24 hour operations and provides a NBC protected
environment for the operators.  Corps support is required for
intra-theater deployment of the GS/CS System.  Skid mounted air
conditioners degrade mobility.  User communication requirements
are UHF, FM and VOW.

     C.  EMPLOYMENT:  This system is employed only to the
Military Intelligence Brigade, Aerial Exploitation Battalion,
Corps (34418C400).

     D.  BASIS OF ISSUE:  One Per AEB, CORPS (MI).

     E.  POWER REQUIREMENTS:  This facility operates on 30.75 KW
at 60 HZ furnished by the AN/MJQ-34, Z75545, BOIP M050AI (OLD
BOIP# 890159).

     F.  TRANSPORTATION REQUIREMENTS:  This facility requires one
Commerical Tractor Truck.

Two 98G4L, and 98J.

     H.  SPECIAL NOTES:  BOIPS (() old BOIP numbers): M050AA
(860010), M050AB (860011), M050AC (860012), M050AD (860013),
M050AD (860014), M050MA (860015), M050MB (860016), M050MC
(860017), M050AI (890159), M050AJ (890160), and M087AH all make
up GUARDRAIL/Common Sensor.

         (1)  BOIP'S M050AA (860010), M050AB (860011), M050AC
(860012), and M050AD (860013) are the 4 primary items of the
Surveillance Information Processing Facility (AN/TSQ-105).

         (2)  The V-XX4/TSQ-105 (V)5 is appropriate for
publication in AR 71-13.
