Power Plant Electric Trailer Mounted

A.  DESCRIPTION:  Power Plant Electric (PPE) Trailer Mounted:
AN/MJQ-34, LIN Z75545, M050AI, provides power to the four Guardrail
Common Sensor System, System 4 (GRCS-4) vans of the Integrated
Processing Facility, the Interoperable Data Link Tracking Antennas,
the USM-624 Electronic Shop Van, and the Maintenance Facility Van.
The PPE is deployable world-wide except by rail.  The PPE is mounted
on two (component) M270A1 semitrailers, each of which is towed by a
dedicated M915 truck tractor (LIN T61103).  The PPE consists of five
generators (three on the primary trailer and two on the auxillary
trailer), a power distribution cabinet, frequency converter system
power connector cabinet, cable pallets, and load bank.  The PPE is
maintained by 33Rs and 52Ds. Primary trailer dimensions are: Length
49 feet 9 inches, Width 8 feet, Height 11 feet 5 inches, Weight 52100
pounds.  Auxiliary trailer dimensions are: Length 49 feet 9 inches,
Width 8 feet, Height 9 feet 10 inches, Weight 41700 pounds.

     B.  CAPABILITIES:  Power Plant Electric (PPE) System
is world-wide deployable except by rail.  Component equipment is five
generators, power distribution cabinet (which connects generator
power or commercial power to converter system), frequency converter
system (which converts 50Hz commercial power to 60 Hz power for use
by the IPF), power connector cabinet (which contains all power output
terminals), cable pallets (used to store cables during movement), and
load bank (used to test generators).  Once the system is on-line, no
manning is required; system is mounted on two component M270A1
semitrailers and towed by 2 M915 truck tractors (LIN T61103).  Power
system is five generators 120/208 VAC 60Hz 3 phase power.  The system
is maintained by 33R and 52D and is fully self-contained, mobile, and
all-weather operational.  It has storage space for PPE system cables,
some IPF cables, and for IPF radio masts during transport.

     C.  EMPLOYMENT:  This system is assigned to support the
Integrated Processing Facility in the Aerial Exploitation
Battalion, Military Intelligence Brigade, Corps (34418A400).

     D.  BASIS OF ISSUE:  One Per Integrated Processing Facility,
AEB, MI Bde, Corps.

     E.  POWER REQUIREMENTS:  This item provides the power for the
Surveillance Information Processing Facility (4 vans), Interoperable
Data Link (IDL) Tracking Antenna, Electronic Shop (Maintenance) Van:
AN/USM-624, and the Maintenance Facility Van: GSM-271B.

     F.  TRANSPORTATION:  Power Plant requires two Truck Tractors:
Line Haul C/S 50000 GVWR 6X4 M915A1 (T61103).

     H.  SPECIAL NOTES:  This BOIP is appropriate for publication
in AR 71-13.  This item, Power Plant Electric, AN/MJQ-34/BOIP M050AI,
will be issued as part of the GRCS-4 System.  The other BOIP/LIN
