Electronic Maintenance Shop Van

A.  DESCRIPTION:  Electronic Shop, Semi Trailer Mounted:
AN/USM-624, LIN Z25547/BOIP M050AJ is part of Guardrail Common Sensor
System 4 (GRCS-4).  It provides a special maintenance van facility
for unit level, direct support, and general support levels of
maintenance for the Electronic Intelligence (ELINT) subsystem,
Communications High-Accuracy Airborne Location System (CHAALS)
subsystem and ELINT mission test equipment for Advanced Quick Look
(AQL) subsystem, which are all part of GRCS-4's Airborne Relay
Facility (ARF) subsystem. The Electronic Shop also provides
work/storage space for special test equipment used in the maintenance
and repair of the four Integrated Processing Facility (IPF) vans and
the ARF.  This PLL van provides storage space for all PLL,
benchstock, TMDE, and tools required to maintain the complete system
including the aircraft.  This item is deployable world-wide and the
prime mover is 1 M931A2, 5 Ton, 6x6 truck tractor (LIN X59326), plus
a second M931A2/X59326 to pull (ASIOE) H01857, Electronic Shop
Semitrailer Mtd: AN/ASM-190.  Primary users of this shop are 33R,
Paramax contractors, and BASI contractors.  Trailer dimensions are:
Length 26 feet, Width 8 feet, Height 11 feet, Weight 13000 pounds.
This facility requires 30 kw at 60 Hz generator which is provided by
the Power Plant Electric, AN/MJQ-34/BOIP M050AI, LIN Z75545.

     B.  CAPABILITIES:  This Electronic Shop AN/USM-624 is deployable
world-wide. The shop is manned by MOS 33R, Paramax contractors, and
BASI contractors. The trailer is pulled by M931A2 tractor.  Power
requirements are supplied by AN/MJQ-34 and back-up power supply is
provided by generator set diesel MJQ-12        (two 60 Kw generators
on a single trailer).  With appropriate TMDE, tools, and repair
parts, the van provides an area for maintainers to conduct unit,
direct support, and general support level maintenance.

     C.  EMPLOYMENT:  This item is assigned to support the GRCS-4
Integrated Processing Facility in the Aerial Exploitation
Battalion, Military Intelligence Brigade, Corps (34418A400).

     D.  BASIS OF ISSUE:  One per GRCS-4 Integrated Processing
Facility, AEB, MI Bde, Corps.

     E.  POWER REQUIREMENTS:  This facility requires 30 kw at 60
Hz generator provided by the AN/MJQ-34.

     F.   TRANSPORTATION:  Requires 2 Truck Tractors: 5 Ton 6X6 W/E
M931A2 (X59326).

     G.  PERSONNEL IMPACTS:

in AR 71-13.  This item, Elect. Shop Semi-Trailer Mtd: AN/USM-624,
BOIP M050AJ, LIN Z25547 is part of the GRCS-4 System.  The other
