Maintenance Shop Semitrailer Mounted

A.  DESCRIPTION:  Maintenance Shop Semitrailer Mounted
(AN/ARM-185B) provides a special maintenance facility for unit,
direct support, and general support levels of maintenance of the
Airborne Relay Facility (AN/ARW-83 (V) 6 and the Flight Line Test
Set (AN/ARM-163 (V)).  The Maintenance Shop van provides space
for special test equipment and work space for the maintenance and
repair of the ARF and FLTS.  The PLL vans provide storage space
for all PLL, Benchstock, TMDE, and tools required to maintain the
complete system including the aircraft.  System is world-wide
deployable, and the prime mover is truck tractor (LIN X59326).
Primary users are 33R, Paramax contractor, and BASI contractors.
Trailer dimensions are: Length 26 feet, Width 8 feet, Height 11
feet, Weight 13000 pounds.  This facility requires 86 kw at 60 Hz
of power which is provided by the PU-495 (LIN J35801).

     B.  CAPABILITIES:   Maintenance Shop: is deployable world-
wide; system is manned by 33R, Paramax contractors, and BASI
contractors; facility (Mounted on two trailers) is moved by two
trucks tractor (LIN X59326); and power requirements are supplied
by generator set diesel PU-495 (LIN J35801).  With appropriate
TMDE, tools, and repair parts, shop provides an area for
maintainers to conduct unit, direct support, and general support
level maintenance.

     C.  EMPLOYMENT:  This system is employed only to the
Military Intelligence Brigade, Aerial Exploitation Battalion,
Corps (34418C400).

     D.  BASIS OF ISSUE:  One Per AEB, CORPS (MI).

     E.  POWER REQUIREMENTS:  This facility operates on 86 KW at
60 HZ provided by the PU-495, 100 KW Generator, J35801.

     F.  TRANSPORTATION REQUIREMENTS:  This facility requires two
X59326, Truck Tractors 5 Ton for mobility.

(860017), M050AI (890159), M050AJ (890160), and M087AH all make
up GUARDRAIL/Common Sensor.

         (1)  BOIP'S M050AA (860010), M050AB (860011), M050AC
(860012), and M050AD (860013) are the 4 primary items of the
Surveillance Information Processing Facility (AN/TSQ-105).

         (2)  The AN/ARM-185B is appropriate for publication in
AR 71-13.
