1. Organizations and Mitglieder1 )
1996 were, like in the preceding year, 63 extremist Ausländerorganisationen2 ) in Germany active.
The strong rise of the members - and numbers of supporters of these groups in the years 1994 and 1995 did not continue. Opposite 1995 (approx. 55.500) the number of the members and follower increased negligibly on about 57.300 persons.
The extremist - islamischen (islamistischen) organizations disposed despite easy losses with 30.900 persons (1995: approx. 31.800) as always over the largest follower potential. The decline is on the relaxing magnetism the - " association islamischer unions and communities e.V., Cologne " - (ICCB), whose membership on approx. 1.500 (1995: approx. 2.900) has gone back, to lead back. Mitgliederstärkste islamistische organization remained the Turkish - " Islamische community - Milli Görüs e.V. " - (IGMG)3 ).
The Turkish and kurdischen linksextremistischen foreigner groups could raise the number of their members and follower further. She/it totaled to the end of the year more than 16.000 persons (1995: approx. 14.300). Them first 1994 emerged Turkish - " Marxist - Leninistische Communist party " - (MLKP) could triple the number of their members and follower in Germany roughly (altogether over 700). Strongest grouping remained them - " Arbeiterpartei Kurdistans " - (PKK), their activity in Germany is forbidden.
The number of the members and follower extreme - nationalistic foreign organizations is on 7.800 (1995: 6.900) climbed. Considerable public activities did not exit from these organizations in Germany also in the year under review.
The following number survey elucidates again, that the large majority the approx. 7,3 Millionen4 ) in Germany living foreigner extremist goals refuses. The share of political extremists at the foreign residential population altogether remained furthermore slighter than a percent.

The number of periodically appearing publications of extremist foreigner organizations climbed to 82 (1995: 76). The increase rests on increasing journalistic activity islamistischer organizations.

The most publications are published by Turkish and kurdischen groups (28 and/or 15).
3. Power drives and other law injuries

The internal security of the Federal Republic of Germany was hurt also 1996 through atrocities of foreign extremists and terrorist like murder, arson, injury and breach of the peace. The total number of these atrocities, which had grown in the years 1993 to 1995 continually, went back however 1996 for the first time again easily on now 269 (1995: 283). Declining were particularly power drives of followers it - " Arbeiterpartei Kurdistans " - (PKK). Against it the militancy of Turkish left-wing extremists has gained. 1) For statistical reasons each atrocity and/or other law injury was counted only once, even if she/it consisted of several single deeds or was committed by several perpetrators jointly.
