BND Systems

The Federal Intelligence Service [BND] has reportedly expressed reservations about the German-French joint reconnaissance satellites agreed to Federal Chancellor Helmut Kohl and French President Jacques Chirac. The service reportedly prefered an offer by Lockheed Martin, whose satellites (costing about $600 million) might be about half as costly as the France Helios, and would be operational sooner.
