Annex A. Science And Technology Objectives (STOs) IV.R.11. Hyperspectral Technology. The object is to evaluate tools for hyperspectral data gathering from overhead platforms and provide a capability to exploit that data to rapidly identify targets and militarily significant man-made and natural features to support C2I. By the end of FY96, demonstrate computer-based identification of man-made materials from hyperspectral data and signature data bases. By FY97, demonstrate identification of man-made materials using far infrared spectrum. Determine the utility of an acousto-optic tunable filter to provide data from a elevated platform. Provide this sensor data to sensor developers for their use in determining technologies to be used in future sensors.
