By FY96, demonstrate broad bandwidth, wide dynamic range (20-30 dB) two-dimensional (2-D) devices and processors with appropriate algorithms for detection and identification of signals. By FY98, demonstrate a photonic processor with appropriate algorithms for detection and identification of signals. By FY99, demonstrate a 2-D optical processor capable of running real time signal and image processing algorithms on data from imaging sensors such as Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) or Electro-optical (EO) images which requires significantly less power than conventional digital processors.
