There currently are almost no assets available for
dedicated efforts to support the development of Initial
Brigade manuals and CATS. Front end
analysis, task identification. and identification of the
manual and collective training requirements for the Initial
Brigade Units and elements will not be developed.

INITIAL BRIGADE Doctrine/Collective Training
The purpose of this funding is to provide contract support to produce a framework for the development of structured Field Manuals, ARTEPs, MTPs, and CATS for the Initial Brigade Doctrine. At this time, we are pointing towards developing Bde, Bn, company and platoon manuals. In addition, an AT Company and platoon manual are envisioned. We also believe it is necessary to develop a Recon Plt manual for the Infantry Bn’s. Most of the above manuals will require appropriate MTPs and ARTEPS. We envision two personnel to develop CATS for the Initial Bde. In additional, the above will require 3 editiors and 1 visual information specialist.
The publication of prototype manuals will only be partially accomplished. A partial development will result is a vastly degraded overall training product.
