EAC CIIW will most often be satisfied by current intelligence reporting from organic EAC assets supplemented with theater CIIW support. From the national level and the theater CIIW Center, the EAC can obtain tip-offs and warnings of imminent hostile activity. The EAC receives current intelligence information from other Intelligence Community organizations. This information consists of message traffic on military and political events of interest and summaries and briefings generated by the Combatant Command Joint Intelligence Centers, and national-level organizations; real-time reporting of operational situations by EAC forces; and radio and television broadcasts monitored by the EAC.

Specific requirements include:

Receiving, processing, conducting initial analysis of and disseminating time-sensitive CIIW intelligence reporting to the EAC Staff and operating commands and activities attached to or supporting the EAC mission.
Preparing and disseminating spot, critical, and periodic intelligence reports to higher, adjacent, and subordinate commands as required.
Providing subordinate commands with guidance on required intelligence reports.
Receiving and processing of all incoming spot and critical intelligence reports from subordinate or higher headquarters, and disseminating intelligence reports as appropriate.
Keeping intelligence situation maps and order of battle (OB) charts current.
Providing intelligence briefings.
Maintaining required intelligence files and documents.
Producing, coordinating, and disseminating all-source current and estimate intelligence responsive to the EAC mission.
Reviewing and assessing substantive intelligence pertaining to the EAC areas of responsibility and interest.
Analyzing all-source information to provide timely intelligence on military, political, terrain, social, cultural, and economic strengths and vulnerabilities of countries within the areas of EAC responsibility and interest.
Generating intelligence collection requirements to address intelligence gaps and evaluating requirement satisfaction.
Receiving, analyzing, and disseminating intelligence concerning military operations by potentially hostile forces in the EAC areas of responsibility and interest.
Maintaining current potentially-hostile OB displays, records, and data bases.
