1.  MISSION.  TO PROVIDE THE DIVISION WITH AIRCRAFT FOR
COMMAND, CONTROL, AND LIAISON; COMBAT ELECTRONIC WARFARE
INTELLIGENCE (CEWI)

2.  ASSIGNMENT.  ORGANIC TO THE GENERAL SUPPORT AVIATION
BATTALION, TOE 01305L; AVIATION BRIGADE, ARMOR AND MECHANIZED
INFANTRY DIVISIONS.

3.  CAPABILITIES.

    A.  AT LEVEL 1, THIS UNIT PROVIDES:

        (1) UH-60 AIRCRAFT FOR OBSERVATION, COMMAND, CONTROL,
AND LIAISON.

        (2) THE ARMOR AND MECHANIZED INFANTRY DIVISION
MILITARY INTELLIGENCE BATTALION WITH DEDICATED ELECTRONIC
WARFARE AIRCRAFT.

        (3) AIR MESSENGER SERVICE AND AERIAL RADIO RELAY, AS
REQUIRED BY DIVISION HEADQUARTERS.

        (4) AUGMENTATION TO CORPS AIR AMBULANCE RESOURCES BY
AIR MOVEMENT OF SICK AND WOUNDED PERSONNEL WHEN REQUESTED BY
MEDICAL AUTHORITIES.

        (5) CONTINUOUS DAY AND NIGHT OPERATIONS DURING VISUAL
AND MARGINAL WEATHER CONDITIONS AND LIMITED OPERATIONS DURING
INSTRUMENT WEATHER CONDITIONS.

    B.  THE COLUMNS UNDER LEVELS 2 AND 3 ADAPT THIS TABLE
FOR REDUCED OPERATIONAL CAPABILITIES IN DECREMENTS OF 10%
FROM APPROXIMATELY 90% FOR LEVEL 2 TO APPROXIMATELY 80%
FOR LEVEL 3.

    C.  THIS UNIT IS NOT ADAPTABLE TO A TYPE B ORGANIZATION.

    D.  THE COLUMNS DESIGNATED BY LEVELS 1 THROUGH 3 ARE
DESIGNED TO RELATE TO THE CATEGORIES ESTABLISHED IN AR 220-1,
UNIT STATUS REPORTING.

    E.  INDIVIDUALS OF THIS ORGANIZATION CAN ASSIST IN THE
COORDINATED DEFENSE OF THE UNIT'S AREA OR INSTALLATION.

    F.  THIS UNIT PERFORMS UNIT MAINTENANCE ON ALL ORGANIC
EQUIPMENT.

    G.  THIS UNIT IS DEPENDENT UPON:

        (1) APPROPRIATE ELEMENTS OF THE DIVISION OR CORPS FOR
LEGAL, FINANCE, LOGISTICAL SUPPORT INCLUDING SUPPLEMENTAL
TRANSPORTATION AND MAINTENANCE OF PROPERTY BOOKS.

        (1) THE HEADQUARTERS AND HEADQUARTERS COMPANY OF THE
GENERAL SUPPORT AVIATION BATTALION, TOE 01306A, FOR UNIT LEVEL
PERSONNEL SUPPORT, INCLUDING PERSONNEL, ADMINISTRATIVE,
LEGAL,HEALTH, AND RELIGIOUS SERVICES; AND UNIT LEVEL
LOGISTICAL SUPPORT (EXCEPT CLASS IX FOR AIRCRAFT); AUTOMOTIVE
AND COMMUNICATIONS MAINTENANCE; AND UNIT NUCLEAR, BIOLOGICAL,
CHEMICAL (NBC) TRAINING AND SUPPORT, AND FOOD SERVICE SUPPORT.

        (3) THE AVIATION UNIT MAINTENANCE COMPANY, TOE 01309A,
FOR AVIATION UNIT MAINTENANCE (AVUM) OF ORGANIC AIRCRAFT,
INCLUDING UNIT LEVEL SUPPLY SUPPORT FOR AIRCRAFT CLASS IX.

        (4) THE HEADQUARTERS, HEADQUARTERS AND SERVICE
COMPANY, MILITARY INTELLIGENCE BATTALION (CEWI), FOR TASKING
OF COLLECTION AND JAMMING MISSIONS AND DIRECT SUPPORT (DS)
MAINTENANCE ON EW/SIGINT EQUIPMENT IN THE CEWI PLATOON.

4.  BASIS OF ALLOCATION.  ONE PER AVIATION SUPPORT BATTALION,
TOE 01305A.

5.  CATEGORY.  THIS UNIT IS DESIGNATED A CATEGORY II UNIT.

6.  MOBILITY.

    A.  THIS UNIT IS CAPABLE OF TRANSPORTING 16,000 POUNDS
(1,212 CUBIC FEET) OF TOE EQUIPMENT WITH ORGANIC VEHICLES.

    B.  THIS UNIT HAS 7,077 POUNDS (1,418.3 CUBIC FEET)
OF TOE EQUIPMENT REQUIRING TRANSPORTATION.

    C.  THIS UNIT REQUIRES 75 PERCENT OF ITS TOE EQUIPMENT
AND SUPPLIES TO BE TRANSPORTED IN A SINGLE LIFT USING ITS

1.  GENERAL.

    a.  References:

     b.  Purpose and authority for the preparation and revisions of
Tables of Organization and Equipment (TOE).

        (1)  Cyclic review in accordance with AR 71-32.

        (2)  This review and revision incorporates concept changes,
updates manpower requirementscriteria (MARC), and applies
incremental TOE development procedures.

        (3)  This version of the TOE has been prepared in accordance
with the provisions of current TOE development regulations and
guidance.

        (4)  All Equipment Readiness Codes in these TOE have been
reviewed to ensure strict compliance with criteria in AR 220-1,
Unit Status Reporting.  They also have been reviewed to ensure they
are aligned at the paragraph level of detail.

        (5)  The unit MARC Code is 21A.  This is a combat support
unit that operates in the division area.  It is a split based unit
that is required to move.

2.  EMPLOYMENT.

    a.  The Command Aviation Company provides command, control, and
communication aircraft for the division, provides combat
electronic warfare and intelligence (CEWI) aircraft in support of
the armor or mechanized infantry division.  It will operate from the
division rear area and will employ aircraft throughout the division
area of operations.

    b.  With the exception of the limited AVUM provided by the
assigned crew chiefs and basic tool kits, the unit is dependent on
other units for all logistical and personnel support services.  It
has little or no capability for independent operations away from the
parent battalion.  It locates near or with the battalion HHC.

    c.  This TOE does not include provisions which would restrict
its application to a single geographical area.

3.  METHODS OF OPERATIONS AND FUNCTION.

GENERAL REMARK.  The only personnel requirements listed in this
paragraph are those not covered by criteria and measurable man-power
authorization standards contained in AR 570-2 or automated analysis
related to AR 570-2.

    a.  Paragraph 01, Company Headquarters.

        (1)  The function of the Company Headquarters is to command,
control, and coordinate activities of the Command Aviation Company.
