2.  MISSION/CAPABILITIES/SECTION I.

    a.  Provides ground reconnaissance and surveillance within and
to the front, flanks, and rear of the division.

    b.  Provides assistance in division command and control by
providing a positive link between the division and subordinate units.

    c.  See TOE Section 1(s) for a complete list of capabilities
and limitations of this organization and its subordinate units.

3.  ASSIGNMENT.  Organic to a infantry division, TOE 87000C.

4.  PERSONNEL.

1.  MISSION.  TO PERFORM GROUND RECONNAISSANCE AND
SURVEILLANCE IN SUPPORT OF BRIGADE OPERATIONS.

2.  ASSIGNMENT.  ORGANIC TO A DIVISION.

3.  CAPABILITIES.

    A.  AT LEVEL 1, THIS UNIT:

        (1)  CONDUCTS DETAILED GROUND RECONNAISSANCE AND
SURVEILLANCE WITHIN AND TO THE FRONT, FLANKS, AND REAR OF THE
BRIGADE.

        (2)  ASSISTS IN THE MOVEMENT CONTROL OF BRIGADE
UNITS WITHIN AND THROUGH THE BRIGADES AREA OF OPERATION.

        (3)  ASSISTS IN BRIGADE COMMAND AND CONTROL BY
PROVIDING A POSITIVE COMMAND LINK BETWEEN THE BRIGADE AND
SUBORDINATE ELEMENTS.

        (4)  CONDUCTS SURVEILLANCE AND RECONNAISSANCE TO
FACILITATE REAR OPERATIONS.

    B.  THE COLUMNS UNDER LEVELS 2 AND 3 ADAPT THIS TABLE FOR
REDUCED OPERATIONAL CAPABILITIES IN DECREMENTS OF 10%, FROM
APPROXIMATELY 90% FOR LEVEL 2 TO APPROXIMATELY 80% FOR
LEVEL 3.

    C.  THIS UNIT IS NOT ADAPTABLE TO TYPE B ORGANIZATION.

    D.  THE COLUMNS DESIGNATED BY LEVELS 1 THROUGH 3 ARE
DESIGNED TO RELATE TO CATEGORIES ESTABLISHED IN AR 220-1, UNIT
STATUS REPORTING.

4.  BASIS OF ALLIOCATION:  ONE PER HEAVY BRIGADE.

5.  THIS UNIT IS DESIGNATED A CATEGORY 1 UNIT (FOR UNIT
CATEGORIES, SEE AR 310-25).

6.  MOBILITY.

    A.  THIS UNIT IS CAPABLE OF TRANSPORTING 63,700 POUNDS
(2285 CUBIC FEET) OF TOE EQUIPMENT WITH OGANIC VEHICLES.

    B.  THIS UNIT HAS 22,863 POUNDS (2,606.0 CUBIC FEET) OF
TOE EQUIPMENT REQUIRING TRANSPORTATION.

    C.  THIS UNIT REQUIRES 100 PERCENT OF ITS TOE EQUIPMENT
AND SUPPLIES TO BE TRANSPORTED IN A SINGLE LIFT USING ITS
AUTHORIZED ORGANIC VEHICLES (SOURCE FM 17-95).

1.  GENERAL.

    b.  Purpose and authority for the preparation and revisions of
Table(s) of Organization and Equipment (TOE).

        (1)  This edition TOE of the Brigade Reconnaissance Troop,
is the creation of a new TOE.

        (2)  This version of the TOE has been prepared in accordance
with the provisions of current TOE development regulations and
Force XXI guidance.

        (3)  All equipment readiness codes (ERCs) in this TOE have
been reviewed to ensure strict compliance with criteria in AR 220-1,
Unit Status Reporting.

        (4)  The unit MARC Code is 11A (There is no CSS in this
unit).  This is a Combat unit that operates in the Division area.

2.  EMPLOYMENT. The Brigade Reconnaissance Troop employed under
the control of the Brigade which is organic to the Heavy Division.
This unit has the minimum essential personnel and equipment
required for combat operations.

3.  METHODS OF OPERATIONS AND FUNCTIONS.

    a.  PARAGRAPH 01, Headquarters Section.

        (1)  Functions.  Provides command and control and
administration required to conduct operations. To accomplish this
function the troop commander is assisted by an XO, a 1SG, two
scout platoon leaders, an Operations assistant, a forward signal
support NCO, an NBC NCO, a supply sergeant, a scout driver,
an armorer, two vehicle drivers, and a scout, and a signal
support systems maintainer.

        (2)  Personnel requirements not covered by regulatory
guidance: Three signal support system maintainers.

        (3)  Major equipment requirements:
