DAACM
As of 1991 the Air Force planned to use the I-2000 penetrating bomb for
attacking runways rather than develop the new DAACM weapon. With the
collapse of the Warsaw Pact, there were few reinforced runways on the
US target list, and the existing Durandals were regarded as adequate for
standard thickness runways, while the I-2000 can penetrate any
conceivable runway. Moreover, it is already in the inventory and needs
no development program.
