Notes:
Title: Launch Pods (LPC/GMLA)
Dialogue: Both rockets and missiles are factory assembled, tested, and stored in fiberglass containers mounted on the frame. Both the rocket tubes and missile housing are connected by cable to a common electrical connector. Handling, transporting and loading fixtures are exactly the same for the LPC and GLMA. The GMLA has plastic camouflage panels fitted to the external surface to make the GMLA look like the rocket LPC at a distance greater than 100 m. The forward and aft covers are plastic and designed to fracture and blow away as the missile builds up thrust and exits from the container. It is important to understand that the center of gravity of the Army TACMS GMLA is different from the MLRS rocket. Therefore, the hoist mechanism must be manually adjusted (to the AT-2 position) before loading the GMLA.
