SRP Realignment
Countdown clock alerts crew when to realign the SRP.
Realignment takes 3.5 minutes Launcher stationary; LLM stowed.
Additional stabilization results in a compensated SRP (about 2.5 minutes).
Notes:
Dialogue: Errors that are a function of time are corrected through the periodic SRP realignments. Realignments are required every 11 to 60 minutes of launcher movement depending on the munitions type and whether or not the SRP is compensated. If the launcher is moved with the SRP turned off or not stabilized, the position location capability is lost. The system must then be updated at an SCP and the SRP realigned before the launcher can respond to any fire mission requests. Realignment of the system takes about 3 1/2 minutes. However, allowing the SRP to stabilize 2 1/2 additional minutes longer (i.e., by not moving the LLM or the launcher) will result in a compensated realignment.
