Title: The Reload Point (RL)
Dialogue: The reload point (RL) is the position where the launchers pick up ammunition between fire missions. Each platoon OPAREA should have at least two RLs. The following considerations apply to RL selection:
Cover and concealment for a HEMTT/HEMAT and a launcher in the same location at the same time. This is the most vulnerable position for both crews.
Room to maneuver the 100 foot turning radius of the HEMTT/HEMAT and boom operations.
Firm ground or pavement for supporting vehicles and ammunition.
Covered and concealed route from AHA to RL.
Reload points should be 800 meters or more from FPs and 500 meters from any other element or location.
