BCIS Initial Draft MFP
20 June 98
BCIS is not classified. The BCIS Classification Guide is FOUO and is not attached. However, the following information from the Classification Guide is provided in this section of the MFP for attention:
"When National Security Agency (NSA) approved encryption
is used, the classification shall be provided by NSA. When the
encryption Key(s) reside in memory on the Red Processor Circuit
Card Assembly (CCA) (Part Number 725792-801), the Red Processor
CCA and the J-6437(C)/U Communication Equipment Interface Unit
(Part Number 902308-801), become classified to the classification
level of the encryption being used. The Red Processor CCA and
the J-6437(C)/U become declassified, but remain a Controlled Cryptographic
Item (CCI) once the encryption keys are properly zeroized. All
documents describing the encryption routines and keys shall be
marked IAW the classification guidance provided by NSA."
