MILITARY OCCUPATIONAL SKILLS

BCIS Operators. BCIS will be operated by General Purpose Users (GPU) for the "non-shooter" type vehicles with a transpond only function provided by the AN/VSC-9. The gunner/vehicle commander will be the primary BCIS operator on a "shooter" vehicle equipped with an interrogator-tranponder function provided by the AN/VSX-4. The following MOSs from each Branch/CMF are BCIS operators:

BCIS UL Maintainers. BCIS UL maintenance actions will be performed by a Signal Support Systems Specialist (MOS 31U) for the "non-shooter" type vehicles with a transpond only function provided by the AN/VSC-9. The Turret Mechanic will be the primary BCIS UL Maintainer for the M1 and M2 Families and the FISTV vehicles equipped with an interrogator-tranponder function provided by the AN/VSX-4. All other "shooter" vehicles will be maintained by a Signal Support Systems Specialist.
