Mission

Develop warfighting capabilities using available systems and technical insertions to provide a solution that allows the Army to better deal with Small Scale Contingencies without risk to its primary role to fight and win Major Theater Wars

Global proliferation of weapons technologies applied asymmetrically allows for greater challenges to U.S. Forces

Situation - Enemy

• A rapidly deployable combat brigade that
  • In Small Scale Contingencies is capable of determining the outcome
  • In Stability and Support Operations is the guarantor combat force
  • In Major Theater Wars can fight as part of the Division

Objective

Satisfy the need to be more strategically responsive and capable in meeting CINC requirements for Small Scale Contingencies without compromising our Major Theater War capability
