A. DESCRIPTION: THE CARRIER, AMMUNITION, TRACKED M2002 (LIN Z20650) IS A FULLY TRACKED, ARMORED, AMMUNITION VEHICLE IN SUPPORT OF THE CRUSADER 155MM SELF PROPELLED HOWITZER. THE ARTILLERY RESUPPLY VEHICLE (RSV) WILL CARRY UP TO 130 ROUNDS OF PREFUSED ROUNDS AND 67 PER CENT EFFECTIVE FULL CHARGES WORTH OF MACS (MODULAR AMMUNITION CHARGE SYSTEM) PROPELLANT WHICH WILL BE MECHANICALLY TRANSFERRED TO THE M2001 HOWITZER WITHOUT MANUAL INTERVENTION UNDER ARMOR. THE RSV WILL BE CAPABLE OF TRANSFERRING FUEL TO THE M2001 HOWITZER OR TO OTHER RSV. THE RSV HAS THE CAPABILITY TO KEEP PACE WITH THE HEAVY MANEUVER FORCES AND FEATURES INCREASED SURVIVABILITY. B. CAPABILITIES: THE RESUPPLY VEHICLE M2002 WILL SIGNIFICANTLY INCREASE THE CAPABILITIES OVER THE CURRENT ARTILLERY RESUPPLY VEHICLE, INCREASING THE PAYLOAD, FLEXIBILITY, MOBILITY AND REARM RATE, AUTOMATION, AND ENHANCED SURVIVABILITY. C. EMPLOYMENT: USED IN DIRECT SUPPORT OF THE M2001 CRUSADER AT CORPS, DIVISION AND BATTALION LEVEL. D. BASIS OF ISSUE: ONE-FOR-ONE REPLACEMENT FOR THE M992 FIELD ARTILLERY AMMUNITION SUPPORT VEHICLE (FAASV), LIN C10908. E. POWER REQUIREMENTS: N/A F. TRANSPORTATION REQUIREMENTS: THE VEHICLE WILL BE TRANSPORTABLE BY GROUND, RAIL, SEA OR AIR (C-5 OR C-17) AND WILL MEET EUROPEAN RAIL, BRIDGE, AND TUNNEL RESTRICTIONS. G. PERSONNEL/MAINTENANCE IMPACTS: (1) OPERATOR: (A) CREW SIZE/MOS: CREW WILL CONSIST OF THREE 13B AMMO HANDLERS. (B) TRAINING REQUIREMENTS: NO SPECIAL TRAINING REQUIREME NTS BEYOND MOS TRAINING. (2) MAINTAINERS: UNIT LEVEL: 31U, 45D, 63D, 63J DIRECT SUPPORT: 35Y, 63G, 63H GENERAL SUPPORT: 63H H. SPECIAL NOTES: (1) THIS ITEM IS APPROPRIATE FOR INCLUSION IN AR 71-32(ABOI). (2) FUTURE ARMORED RESUPPLY VEHICLE ORD, 10 NOV 1994. (3) THE FOLLOWING ITEM IS ASIOE BUT WILL NOT VERIFY BY AR 700-20: GROUND HOP KIT. (4) MAINTAINER MOS 44B AND 44E ARE REQUIRED. HOWEVER, CORRECT MOS MAN-HOURS ARE NOT ESTABLISHED. (5) THE SPORT PORTABLE COMPUTER, AN/PSM-90, WILL REPLACE THE AN/PSM-80(V)3 IN IT'S OWN BOIP WHEN SPORT BOIP IS APPROVED. (6) THE PERSONNEL REQUIREMENT FOR THIS BOIP DOES NOT ACTUALLY INCREASE. THE THIRD POSITION COMES FROM THE HOWITZER CREW DURING THE CONVERSION FROM PALADIN TO CRUSADER. (7) CURRENTLY, THERE ARE NO LINS AVAILABLE TO IDENTIFY INSTALLATION KITS FOR RADIOS IN TRACKED VEHICLES. (8) NBC PROTECTION (CHEMICAL ALARM, AN/VDR-2, CAM, AND AN/UDR-13) IS PROVIDED BY THE PLATOON HEADQUARTERS. ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT IS NOT REQUIRED BY THE FIRING SECTIONS.
