BORIS YELTSIN AND HELMUT KOHL DISCUSSED THE ISSUE OF NATO'S EXTENSION AND AGREED TO CONTINUE THE SEARCHES FOR RESOLVING THE PROBLEM

During their negotiations today, Russian President Boris Yeltsin and German Chancellor Helmut Kohl paid special attention to the supposed extension of NATO to the east, said press secretary of the head of the Russian state Sergei Yastrzhembsky. According to him, after the completion of the Russian-German working meeting at a top level, Boris Yeltsin said: "We were seeking the solution of this problem and agreed to continue the discussion of the "Russia and NATO" topic in the future."
