Spokesperson on the signing of "Foreign Operations, Export Financing & Related Programs Appropriation Act, 2001" by US President
Q: US President recently signed into law the "Foreign Operations, Export Financing & Related Programs Appropriation Act, 2001" passed by the US Congress not long ago. What is your comment on that?
A: The Foreign Operations, Export Financing & Related Programs Appropriation Act, 2001 recently adopted by the US Congress contains a number of anti-China provisions, which brutally interferes in China's internal affairs by using the questions of Taiwan, human rights and Tibet and seriously undermines China's interests by supporting those splittist and other hostile elements. The Chinese side has made solemn representations with the US side over the matter. Recently the US Administration has, regardless of the representations of the Chinese side Chinese side, signed the above-mentioned Act. The Chinese side expresses its strong dissatisfaction and firm opposition towards it. It urges the US side to honour with concrete actions the three China-US Joint communiqu¨¦s and basic norms governing relations and put an immediate end to any act that interferes in China's internal affairs and undermines China's interests.
