2002 Iran Special Weapons News
- February 2002: Middle East Newsline reports that Iran failed another test of its indigenously produced engine for its Shahab-3. The report centered around a test in mid-January of 2002 that failed according to U.S. intelligence sources. (Source - Middle East Newsline)
- 18 February 2002: A Middle East Newsline report states that Iran is continuing to market its missiles to Third World Countries. The article singled out Nigeria as the latest client of Iran. The report further stated that an Iranian delegation headed by Deputy Defense Minister Hamidreza Partukzade met with Theophilous Danjuma, Nigerian Defense Minister, about upgrading Nigeria's existing inventory of Soviet-era weapons and acquiring new weapons.
