INTRO:  PAKISTAN FOREIGN MINISTER GOHAR AYUB KHAN SAYS MORE 
NUCLEAR TESTS MAY BE NEEDED AS THE COUNTRY BEGINS THE PROCESS OF 
INTRODUCING NUCLEAR WEAPONS INTO ITS ARMED FORCES.  THE FOREIGN 
MINISTER MADE THE REMARKS DURING AN INTERVIEW WITH VOA AND 
ISLAMABAD CORRESPONDENT MEREDITH BUEL HAS DETAILS.

TEXT:  THE DAY AFTER PAKISTAN CONDUCTED FIVE NUCLEAR TESTS 
FOREIGN MINISTER GOHAR AYUB KAHN SAYS MORE TESTS MAY BE NEEDED.

         WE HAVE A NUCLEAR PROGRAM.  WHENEVER THERE IS TO BE ANY 
         INDUCTION INTO THE ARMED FORCES -- BE IT THE AIR FORCE 
         OR THE ARMY -- TESTS ARE REQUIRED.

THE FOREIGN MINISTER INDICATED PAKISTAN'S INTERMEDIATE-RANGE 
GHAURI MISSILE WILL BE ARMED WITH NUCLEAR WARHEADS.

MR. GOHAR AYUB SAYS A NUCLEAR ARMS RACE IS NOW UNDERWAY "FULL 
STEAM" IN SOUTH ASIA.

THE FOREIGN MINISTER SAYS THERE IS NOW A POSSIBILITY OF A NUCLEAR
WAR IN THE REGION SINCE INDIA AND PAKISTAN ARE ARMED WITH WEAPONS
OF MASS DESTRUCTION.

HE SAYS PAKISTAN'S NUCLEAR TESTS HAVE RESTORED THE STRATEGIC 
MILITARY BALANCE IN THE REGION.(SIGNED)
