[By ITAR-TASS correspondent Anatoliy Yurkin] Mirnyy, Arkhangelsk Region September 24 TASS -- A tactical specialised exercise ended today at the state test site of the Strategic Missile Troops. A Topol strategic missile was launched on Friday at 19:15, Moscow time. The head of the missile hit the target in the designated area of the training ground on the Kamchatka peninsula. Colonel General Igor Sergeyev, commander-in-chief of the Strategic Missile Troops, told ITAR-TASS today that the exercise had been conducted in accordance with a plan. It summed up the results of the summer training of one of the units of the Strategic Missile Troops. Other countries were informed of the launching of the missile. Sergeyev pointed out that the state test site was a unique research and engineering complex, used for testing weapons and improving the skill of officers and men of the missile troops. In his opinion, the latest exercise showed once again the high professional skill of the missile troops. He said, that in accordance with the existing international agreement, the telemetric information will be handed on a parity basis to a similar test site of the U.S. missile forces.
