China Great Wall Industry Corporation - CGWIC

China Great Wall Industry Corporation (CGWIC) is a foreign trade company under CASC and the Ministry of Aerospace Industry of China. CGWIC, acting as the main foreign trade and marketing channel for CASC, specializes in space technology products, as well as the import and export of specialized equipment, precision machinery, instruments, other consumers’ goods.

In 1991, sanctions were imposed by the Bush Administration against China Great Wall Industry Corp. and China Precision Machinery Import Export Corp because those corporations were selling missiles to Pakistan, Iraq, and Iran.

Established in 1980, CGWIC in 1985 was selected to handle the import and export of Chinese space technology and products with an objective to arrange for the launch of foreign spacecraft by Chinese boosters on a commercial basis. The company is an import and export corporation which is the sole organization in China responsible for marketing, commercial negotiation, contract execution and performance for satellite launch services, satellite technology and their products, special equipment, precision machinery, instruments and electronic products.

CGWIC also handles project contracts, export of labor services, import and export of technologies and complete sets of equipments and other businesses by means of joint ventures with foreign enterprises, and cooperative production. It is responsible for processing customer supplied materials, designs and samples, as well as consultation on technology and world trade information and organization of exhibitions. CGWIC also engages in a wide range of business such as technology consulting, project contracting, employment service collaboration, technology transfer, joint production, equity and cooperative joint ventures, investment coordination, export capital construction, storage and transportation, international exhibition, international tourism, satellite communications, property management and domestic trade.

Devoted to becoming a multi-functional, international organization with greater market diversity, CGWIC successfully established the Great Wall Aerospace Group in 1993 and accelerated its business development across the aboard. The Great Wall Aerospace Group is organized with CGWIC as its core and over 100 members enterprises located in 20 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions of the country and in Europe, America, Southeast Asia and the regions of Hong Kong and Macao, and thirty-two entities as its intimate members such China Precision Machinery Import & Export Corporation, and China Aerospace Industry Technology Consulting Company.

China Precision Machinery Imp. & Exp. Fuzhou Corporation (CPMIEC FUZHOU CORP.) is CGWIC's Fuzhou Branch, acting as the one of the main foreign trade and marketing channel for CGWIC, specializes in import and export of specialized equipment, precision machinery, instruments and meters, consumer goods. China Great Wall Shoes Corporation has three plants in Fujian Province, which cover a total area of 22,000 square meters. The main products are three series, with an annual yield of two million pairs of sandals, four million pairs of slippers and three million pairs of leisure shoes. More than 70% of the production is exported to Europe, North America and Southeast Asia.
