AGM-9 General H. H. Arnold
The Advanced Range Instrumentation Ships USNS General H. H. Arnold [AGM-9] and USNS General Hoyt S. Vandenberg [AGM-10] became operational during 1964. The USNS Arnold was deactivated in January 1982, and the USNS Observation Island took over its mission in the Pacific. The USNS Vandenberg was placed in the National Defense Reserve Fleet during February 1983 .
