Esrange

Like its neighbor Norway, Sweden has suggested converting its sounding rocket range Esrange into a small space launch facility. During 1993 Sweden had joined Norway in offering a Polar Satellite Service with a yet-to-be-determined launch vehicle. Later, Sweden leaned toward cooperation with the Russian Federation to meet potential commercial opportunities and its modest national orbital requirements. By the end of 1994, the outlook for converting Esrange into a spaceport was poor (References 156-157, 439).
