- CONFERENCE REPORT ON S. 1124 (House of Representatives - January 22, 1996) - conferees direct the Secretary of Defense to include sufficient resources in fiscal year 1997, and throughout the future year defense plan (FYDP), for a user operation evaluation system (UOES) contingency capability to produce 10 kill vehicles with the appropriate boosters by fiscal year 1999.
- NATIONAL DEFENSE AUTHORIZATION ACT FOR FISCAL YEAR 1997 (Senate - June 19, 1996) AMENDMENT NO. 4058 Senator Bingaman's Amendement to delete two provisions
included in the bill, and substituting a process whereby the Pentagon can complete its analysis of the ongoing space control architecture study and fund the kinetic energy ASAT only if the Secretary of Defense decides that it is a desirable option. After futher debate the amendment was defeated by a 52-46 vote.
- NATIONAL DEFENSE AUTHORIZATION ACT FOR FISCAL YEAR 1997 (Senate - June 26, 1996) Senator Exon's amendment on reducing unrequested budget items, including KE-ASAT.
- CONFERENCE REPORT ON H.R. 3230, NATIONAL DEFENSE AUTHORIZATION ACT FOR
FISCAL YEAR 1997 (House of Representatives - July 30, 1996) Senate recedes to the House in deleting a provision (sec. 212) that would require the Secretary of Defense to
include the kinetic energy tactical anti-satellite (ASAT ) program in the space control architecture to be developed by the Department's new Space Architect.
- CONFERENCE REPORT ON H.R. 3610, DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE APPROPRIATIONS ACT, 1997 (House of Representatives - September 28, 1996) Conferees agree to $50 million for the KE-ASAT program, down from $75 million approved by the Senate [the Administration requested no funding for this program].
