For the next 10 to 15 years, industry should expect most national security missions to be flown “commercially”
Some national security missions will use LOD
- Augmentation
- Maintenance of highly distributed, spared LEO systems
- Initially light and low (ɝK lbs to LEO)
- Require focused technology and systems development (e.g., responsive, reusable spacecraft)
Policies and investments required for LOD will also enhance routine spacelift operations
