| Launch Complex 41 Released by
Investigators CAPE CANAVERAL AIR
FORCE STATION, FL. Operations at Launch Complex 41 returned to normal after
Accident Investigation Board officials released the pad to the 45th Space Wing
on Aug. 27.
Release of the pad indicates the investigative teams
have collected all available evidence from the site, according to Maj. Gen. Robert C.
Hinson, AIB president. The next mission scheduled for Launch Complex 41 is a Titan IVB
with a launch date of Dec. 18, 1998.
The Titan IVA self-destructed 40 seconds into launch
on Aug. 12. The Titan IVA was carrying a National Reconnaissance Office satellite. The Air
Force appointed investigative boards to look into the matter.
