Raytheon E-Systems Greenville provides a single-source facility for aircraft design, production, modification and integration of special-mission systems. We have established a strong heritage of excellence for the structural and systems modification of more than 10,000 aircraft including C-130, C-135, C-141, Boeing 707 and 747 airframes.

Raytheon E-Systems began the cyclic maintenance of the RC-135 Special Mission Fleet in the 1960's and the effort continues to be the flagship program for Greenville Operations today. Raytheon E-Systems developed the basic theater interconnectivity communication systems for the RC-135 fleet and has maintained its currency during the last thirty years. In 1971, we installed a major Electro-Optical System on a C-135 aircraft and Greenville Operations continue to support and upgrade various airborne optical systems.

In 1973, we began the first major military modification to a 747 aircraft, designated the E-4A. The E-4 program included major structural modifications to the 747 airframe and installation of a complete command, communications and control system. Greenville Operations produced the E-4B Airborne Command Post under contract to Boeing and continues to support the aircraft as the major subcontractor for maintenance and inspections.

Raytheon E-Systems continues to be a world leader in aircraft structural modifications, communication systems integration and development, and surveillance systems development and support. These systems include the Special Air Mission aircraft communication systems, head-of-state aircraft self-protection systems, 747 aircraft flight qualified dual auxiliary power units, FAA certification aircraft upgrades, and naval surveillance systems modernization.
