A. DESCRIPTION: THE ELECTRIC POWER PLANT CONSISTS OF TWO 150-KW GTED GENERATOR SETS, POWER DISTRIBUTION UNIT, CABLES, AND ANCILLIARY EQUIPMENT. B. CAPABILITIES: THE TRUCK TOWS A 600-GAL FUEL TANK MOUNTED ON A MM353 3 1/2-TON TRAILER (LIN Z77520, BOIP 770212). POWER CABLES ARE RUN TO THE RADAR AND ENGAGEMENT CONTROL STATION. A MONITORING CABLE CONNECTS TO THE ENGAGEMENT CONTROL STATION WHERE OPERATORS CAN OBSERVE LOW FUEL WARNINGS AND OPERATE A BATTLE SHORT SWITCH FOR SHUT DOWN. C. EMPLOYMENT: THE ELECTRIC POWER PLANT IS THE PRIME POWER SOURCE FOR THE PATRIOT FIRE CONTROL SECTION EQUIPMENT (ENGAGEMENT CONTROL STATION, LIN E08497; RADAR SET, LIN R18815; AND ANTENNA MAST GROUP, LIN A80593). D. BASIS OF ISSUE: ONE ELECTRIC POWER PLANT IS REQUIRED FOR EACH PATRIOT FIRE CONTROL SECTION IN SRC 44637. E. POWER REQUIREMENTS: THERE IS NO EXTERNAL POWER REQUIREMENT. F. TRANSPORTATION REQUIREMENTS: TRUCK MOUNTED ON M811 5-TON CHASSIS. G. PERSONNEL/MAINTENANCE IMPACTS: (1) OPERATOR: (A) CREW SIZE/MOS: OPERATOR IS DESIGNATED BY UNIT COMMANDER PER 12-HOUR SHIFT. (B) TRAINING REQUIREMENTS (MOS/GENERAL): THE OPERATOR IS TRAINED AS A PATRIOT MISSILE CREWMEMBER (MOS 16T). (2) MAINTAINERS: (A) UNIT MAINTENANCE: MOS 52F FOR POWER PLANT AND 63B FOR WHEEL VEHICLE. (B) IDS/IGS MAINTENANCE: MOS 52F FOR POWER PLANT AND MOS 44B, 63G, AND 63W FOR WHEEL VEHICLE. H. SPECIAL NOTES: THIS ITEM IS APPROPRIATE FOR INCLUSION IN AR 71-13.
