A. DESCRIPTION: THE PAC-III INFORMATION AND COORDINATION CENTRAL (ICC) (PLIN Z34852) IS ENCLOSED IN AN ENVIRONMENTALLY-CONTROLLED SHELTER (NON-STOCKED COMPONENT) THAT IS MOUNTED ON A 5-TON TRUCK (LIN X41105 BASE MODS TO LIN T61704 IAW BOIP T046AE/ASIOE). THE ICC INCLUDES A WEAPON CONTROL COMPUTER, THREE STACKS OF UHF MULTICHANNEL RADIO AND ELECTRONIC MULTIPLEXING TERMINAL EQUIPMENT, 5-MODEMS, SINCGARS RADIOS, A LAN ROUTER, A JTIDS RADIO, AND CONTROL EQUIPMENT. THE ICC CONTAINS A SUPERVISOR AND OPERATOR CONSOLE POSITIONS, TACTICAL AND MAINTENANCE SOFTWARE PACKAGES, LAN SOFTWARE PACKAGES, DIGITAL SWITCHBOARD, AND TACTICAL AND MAINTENANCE STATUS PANELS. COMPONENT MAJOR ITEMS (CMI) ARE: (1) A34870 (2 EACH) AIR CONDITIONER: 18000 BTU. (2) K94880 (1 EACH) INTERCOM STATION: LS-147. (3) Q32689 (3 EACH) RAD SET: AN/GRC-103. (4) V30252 (1 EACH) TELEPHONE SET: TA-1/PT. (5) V31211 (1 EACH) TEL SET: TA-312. (6) NON-STANDARD SINCGARS INSTALLATION KIT. B. CAPABILITIES: THE ICC CONTAINS THOSE C4I RESOURCES REQUIRED TO PROCESS TARGETING AND COMMAND AND CONTROL DATA RECEIVED FROM SUBORDINATE FIRE UNITS, ADJACENT AIR DEFENSE ELEMENTS, AND HIGH ECHELON UNITS. C. EMPLOYMENT: THE ICC IS THE PATRIOT BATTALION'S CONTROL CENTER AND INTERFACES WITH THE FIRE UNIT'S ENGAGEMENT CONTROL STATIONS (ECS) (LIN Z97865), ADJACENT BATTALION'S ICC, AND OTHER ADA SYSTEMS VIA ORGANIC UHF RADIO SYSTEMS. THE ICC UTILIZES ORGANIC UHF RADIOS FOR LINE-OF-SIGHT COMMUNICATIONS TO OTHER ADA ELEMENTS OR THE COMMUNICATIONS RELAY GROUP (CRG) (LIN Z16479) TO PROVIDE BEYOND-LINE-OF-SIGHT COMMUNICATIONS. D. BASIS OF ISSUE: ONE ICC PER FIRE DISTRIBUTION SECTION, HHB, ADA BN (PATRIOT) (SRC 44636) AS A 1:1 REPLACEMENT OF THE INFORMATION AND COORDINATION CENTRAL (ICC) (LIN J82250) IN BATTALIONS EQUIPPED WITH THE PAC-III LAUNCHING STATION (LIN Z41170). E. POWER REQUIREMENTS: THE ICC POWER CONSUMPTION IS 29.5 KW. POWER IS PROVIDED BY TWO TRAILER-MOUNTED GENERATORS, PU-804 (LIN G35919/ASIOE). F. TRANSPORTATION REQUIREMENTS: THE ICC IS MOUNTED ON 5-TON TRUCK (LIN X41105 BASE MODS TO LIN T61704 IAW BOIP T046AE/ASIOE). THE TWO TRAILER MOUNTED GENERATORS (LIN G35919/ASIOE) ARE TOWED BY THE ICC'S 5-TON TRUCK AND BY THE AMG (A80593/ASIOE). THE ICC IS C141/C5 AIR TRANSPORTABLE. G. PERSONNEL/MAINTENANCE IMPACTS: (1) OPERATORS: TWO 14ES (ENGAGEMENT CNTRL) AND ONE 31F (PAT SWITCH OPR-MNT) PER SHIFT. (2) MAINTAINERS: (A) UL MAINTENANCE: 14E, 31S, 31U, AND 52C. (B) DS MAINTENANCE: 27X, 31P, 31S, 35E, 35N, AND 52C. (C) GS MAINTENANCE: 31P, 35N, AND 52C. H. SPECIAL NOTES: (1) THIS ITEM IS APPROPRIATE FOR INCLUSION IN THE ABOI. (2) DURING A COORDINATION MEETING AT FORT BLISS, TX, 14-15 OCT 98, THE PM'S OFFICE, HIMAD TSM, OCADA, FORCE DESIGN (DCD), AND RDD AGREED TO THE FOLLOWING: (A) PAC-II SYSTEM OPERATIONS MAY BE PERFORMED BY MOS 31R BUT THE PAC-III SYSTEM REQUIRES MOS 31F. (NOTE: PER COORDINATION WITH TAPC, A NOFC IS SCHEDULED TO EVENTUALLY REPLACE ALL MOS 31R WITH MOS 31F IN PATRIOT TOES.) (B) THE ICC CREW IS TWO MOS 14E AND ONE MOS 31F PER SHIFT AND THERE ARE THREE SHIFTS. PAC-III SYSTEM DOES NOT REQUIRE ANY INCREASE IN PERSONNEL OVER THE PAC-II SYSTEM. (NOTE: PM DOES NOT WANT TO CHANGE PERSONNEL TOTALS IN BOIPFD.) (C) IT WAS AGREED THAT LIN Z17296 IS REQUIRED FOR THE PAC-III ICC AND IS TO BE ADDED TO THE OPFAC RULE AND NOT PLACED AS ASIOE IN THE BOIPFD OR BOIP.
