Slide 1--Homeland Defense
Good Morning Sir, etc. The topic today is here and the bottom line of homeland defense is depicted on this slide, protection of the US public from this type of consequence. Also important here is military support to those first responders--the fireman, hazmat personnel, medical emergency folks--about 5 million of them according to some estimates.
By all accounts, these local personnel will be almost immediately overwhelmed by a significant catastrophic event using a WMD.
